Lauren the Tutor ~ Booking & Policies

Thank you for choosing to work with me. Please review the following policies before booking a session.

Materials & Prep

Location & Travel

  • I offer tutoring within a 10-mile radius of Central Oakland (Pittsburgh) or virtually via Zoom.

  • For in-person sessions, I meet in safe, public spaces such as libraries or coffee shops.

  • Note: I do not enter students’ homes unless we’ve developed a long-term relationship and this has been discussed in advance.

Booking Rules

  • Sessions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Don’t see a time that works? Join the waitlist, and I’ll reach out.

  • Be sure to include your preferred meeting location (in-person or virtual) in the notes when booking.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • You may cancel up to 12 hours before the session without penalty.

  • Cancellations made within 12 hours will be charged 50% of the session fee.

  • No-shows will be charged the full session rate.

  • Rescheduling is available up to 24 hours before the session.

  • I understand that emergencies happen—just communicate with me as soon as possible.

Payment

  • Payment is due at the time of service via debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Tap to Pay.

  • Weekly or monthly invoicing is available for ongoing clients.

  • Consistent late or missed payments may result in paused services

Session Timing

  • Sessions are typically 1 hour.

  • Please arrive on time. If you're late, the session will still end at the scheduled time.

  • I will bring any necessary prep materials.

  • If you'd like to focus on a specific topic or assignment, please send it to me at least 12 hours in advance.

Communication & Progress

  • I’m happy to provide brief updates after sessions if requested.

  • If you'd like more structured progress check-ins or learning plans, let me know and we can set that up.

  • I may take up to 24 hours to respond to messages outside of scheduled session times.
